Synopsis

Celebrating 10 years of impact on families and fathers, this updated version of the film includes new scenes and an enhanced look and sound.

Alex Kendrick, Director / Co-writer (Adam Mitchell)

Alex Kendrick has dedicated his life to following Jesus Christ and making His truth and love known among the nations. After serving in church ministry for 20 years, he now writes, speaks, and produces Christian films with his brothers Stephen and Shannon. Alex directed and co-wrote the movies OVERCOMER, WAR ROOM, COURAGEOUS, FIREPROOF, FACING THE GIANTS, and FLYWHEEL. In 2021, the Kendrick Brothers have two films releasing: COURAGEOUS Legacy, a remastered film with added scenes to mark the film's 10th Anniversary; and Kendrick Brothers' SHOW ME THE FATHER, their first feature-length documentary for which he served as an executive producer and writer. Alex co-wrote the New York Times bestselling books The Love Dare, The Resolution for Men, and The Battle Plan for Prayer. He has been interviewed on "Fox & Friends," CNN, and ABC World News Tonight. Alex and his wife, Christina, live in Albany, Ga. with their six children and are active members at Sherwood Church.

Stephen Kendrick, Producer / Co-writer

After serving in fulltime church ministry for 20 years, Stephen Kendrick now writes, speaks, and produces Christian films with his brothers Alex and Shannon. Stephen produced and co-wrote the movies OVERCOMER, WAR ROOM, COURAGEOUS, FIREPROOF, FACING THE GIANTS and FLYWHEEL. In 2021, the Kendrick Brothers have two films releasing: COURAGEOUS Legacy, a re-cut and remastered film with bonus scenes to mark the film's 10th Anniversary; and Kendrick Brothers' SHOW ME THE FATHER, their first feature-length documentary for which he served as an executive producer and co-writer. Stephen co-wrote the New York Times bestselling books The Love Dare, The Resolution for Men, and The Battle Plan for Prayer. He has been interviewed on "Fox & Friends," CNN, and ABC World News Tonight. He serves on the boards of the Fatherhood CoMission and the Christian Film Foundation. Stephen and his wife, Jill, live in Albany, Ga. with their six children and are active members at Sherwood Church.

Ken Bevel (Nathan Hayes)

A native of Jacksonville, Florida Ken Bevel has been a member of Sherwood Baptist Church since February 2007. After 20 years of active service in the United States Marine Corps, Ken retired to serve in the ministry. He currently serves in the role of the Pastor of Membership and Local Missions at Sherwood. In addition to his daily responsibilities, Ken may be recognized by his role as Lieutenant Michael Simmons in the 2008 inspirational movie FIREPROOF and for his role as Nathan Hayes in the 2011 movie COURAGEOUS, remastered in 2021 with added scenes to mark the film's 10th Anniversary. Ken and his wife, Lauana, have been happily married for 24 years and have two children, Kyra and Kaleb.

Robert Amaya (Javier Martinez)

Robert Amaya is a dedicated family man with a love of film and musicals. He first won audiences' hearts as Javier, the "Snake King," in COURAGEOUS. He has since become a favorite in many uplifting films including OCTOBER BABY, MOMS' NIGHT OUT, and ALTAR EGOS. Robert is finishing his first book, sharing how Christian artists can unleash joyful artistic freedom without compromise. He is a former vocalist for the critically acclaimed Walt Disney's Voices of Liberty. He helped launch and organize "FamJamz," a ministry where families worship together and parents are equipped to lead their children's spiritual development. In 2019, Robert became Executive Director of "K21" and "LiveUp Resources." Robert is married to his high school sweetheart, Colleen, and is the father of two girls, Sophia and Angelina. He is the son of immigrant parents Roberto and Maria Amaya, who have served in full-time ministry. Robert speaks at both English and Spanish-speaking churches, schools, and organizations as a minister of the lifesaving Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Kevin Downes (Shane Fuller)

Kevin Downes' career of producing, acting, directing, and writing spans more than 25 years. Some of Kevin's fan-favorite roles include Shane Fuller in COURAGEOUS, video-game loving Kevin in MOMS' NIGHT OUT, series-regular roles on "Hitting the Breaks" and "Malibu Dan," as well as a brief cameo in the 2018 box-office hit, I CAN ONLY IMAGINE starring Dennis Quaid. He just wrapped portraying St Louis Rams quarterback coach John Ramsdell in the upcoming Kurt Warner biopic, AMERICAN UNDERDOG. Kevin has produced six films with the Erwin Brothers: MOMS' NIGHT OUT, WOODLAWN, I CAN ONLY IMAGINE, I STILL BELIEVE, and the two upcoming films, THE UNBREAKABLE BOY and AMERICAN UNDERDOG. Early in his career, he produced the critically acclaimed LIKE DANDELION DUST from best-selling author Karen Kingsbury, which won more than a dozen awards at prestigious film festivals around the world. In 2019, Kevin partnered with the Erwin Brothers and Tony Young to launch Kingdom Story Company, an entertainment company in partnership with Lionsgate that endeavors to create life-changing content from a variety of talented storytellers.

Ben Davies (David Thomson)

Ben Davies is an actor, writer, public speaker, producer, and a former high school national record holder in the Decathlon and multiple-time collegiate All-American. Injuries followed by surgery halted his athletic career and Olympic opportunity. While recovering and still wearing an arm sling, he auditioned for Sherwood Pictures' highly anticipated film, COURAGEOUS. Ben booked the role, which earned him the Light In Hollywood Award. Since the theatrical release of COURAGEOUS, Ben has landed lead roles in over 20 feature films including theatrical performances in I'M NOT ASHAMED, BECAUSE OF GRACIA, WAR ROOM, and OVERCOMER. In script writing, Ben also won Inspirational Screenplay in the Nashville Film Festival and Best Screenplay Second Runner-up at Kairos in Los Angeles. Ben is currently the producer of "The Michael Knowles Show" at The Daily Wire. The show's YouTube channel receives 17+ million views per month and is consistently ranked in the top 50 podcasts in the world according to Apple Podcast.
